Maria Davou writes about her experience as a speaker and delegate at The Image Conference Brussels.

  1. What did you enjoy about The Image Conference?

I really enjoyed the quality of presentations – new ideas – and networking with colleagues.

  1. How was The Image Conference different from other conferences you’ve been to?

The specificity of the topic made it more interesting than other conferences I’ve been to.

  1. Sum up your talk briefly.

My talk was about MPSA (My Photo Self-Assessment), an Image based tool for student self-assessment, tracking their own language development.

  1. What were the main discussion points to arise in The Image Conference?

For me the main discussion points were the role of visual literacy in modern curricula, the importance of image in promoting love for the text, and the importance of active and critical image interpretation instead of image consumption.
